“Is there a good map of the town?”

map welcome morro bayIt seems like every time there’s a good map of Morro Bay it gets discontinued or cancelled. Maybe because Morro Bay is hard to map.It’s only 5.16 square miles but because it’s so narrow, a good portion of North Morro Bay always seems to get cut out of any standard fold-out map. Morro Bay is almost better mapped on a long banner. But a good map of Morro Bay can help. It’s easy to get lost in the Main & Highway 41 area and it’s hard to understand the layout of the sandspit/breakwater/Morro Rock area upon first sight. When you’re walking around, stop into one of the many Morro Bay realties in town. They often have readable, free maps available. ASAP Reprographics at 495 Morro Bay Boulevard has in the past  provided free, user-friendly maps of Morro Bay on cardstock, and they may still. You may want to check the Visitor’s Center on Morro Bay Boulevard. Three good maps on the web (aside from the Google mapping we have all come to depend upon), that may be printable, are:  As far as the maps on the web Three of the best ones I have found, are the one on the SLO Visitor’s Guide which also has a helpful aerial photograph of Morro Bay, the map of Estero Bay from slocountyhomes.com, and this interactive, illustrated welcomemap.biz. Unfortunately,  North Morro Bay again gets cut out of most of them.
