“You wouldn’t happen to have a theater here, would you?”

bay theaterAs a matter of fact, we do, and it’s a nice one. It’s called the Bay Theatre and it can be found at 464 Morro Bay Boulevard with its big blue-and-pink marquee. It’s one of the few remaining one-screen theaters left in the country and is both roomy and comfortable. It was built in 1942 and subsequent remodeling efforts have kept the old-theatre, art-deco feel alive while adding the luxuries and amenities of the modern theater.  The Bay Theater shows first-run releases at very affordable ticket- prices (currently $8.00) and offers great concessions with a staff that is old-fashioned-friendly. So if you’re in Morro Bay and want to see a movie in a comfortable theater, there’s no reason to fight the crowds at the cineplexes of San Luis Obispo. Relax at the Bay Theater, and afterwards or before, enjoy dining and shopping of Old Town Morro Bay. (Click here for shows and times).
